UNU-CPR’s Digital and Frontier Technologies research programme examines how artificial intelligence, data governance, digital infrastructure and frontier technologies – including quantum computing, space technologies and biotechnology – are reshaping who controls critical infrastructure, how security risks are managed, and who is included as these technologies are developed and deployed. Its goal is to combine evidence-based policy research and advice with a standing capacity to track a fast-changing and fragmenting governance landscape, giving the United Nations Secretariat, the Development System and Member States a shared base of evidence to inform decisions.
