Cecilia is a PhD fellow at UNU-MERIT (currently visiting the EC Joint Research Centre in Seville)
Cecilia has a background in Economics with a specialization in Development and Environmental Economics. Before joining the Institute, she has worked for the Inter-American Development Bank in the Development Effectiveness division. She is concerned with issues of sustainable development and its relationship with industrial dynamics. Her PhD thesis focuses on technological transformations over the long-run, their interrelations with firms' strategies and countries' development, and the implications for changes in global leadership.
