The United Nations University Programme of Biotechnology for Latin America and the Caribbean has funded over 440 short fellowships for scientists that have an opportunity to train in or do a piece of research with technology available in laboratories outside of their home country. This not only speeds up the transfer of research technology and know-how whithin the region, but also solidifies scientific collaboration networks across the continent.
