Youth in Charge: RCE Leaders Shaping Sustainable Societies
This book highlights projects across the Global RCE Network that advance meaningful youth engagement and leadership in sustainability initiatives.
Launched on International Youth Day 2026, this publication showcases meaningful youth engagement and leadership on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) initiatives across the global network of Regional Centres of Expertise on ESD (RCEs). Through 12 case studies, the book highlights how young people are driving sustainability through community action, innovation, education, advocacy and intergenerational collaboration. Written by youth leaders and members of selected RCEs across four geographic regions (Africa & Middle East, Americas, Asia-Pacific, Europe), the publication presents real-world examples of young people as leaders and partners in addressing local challenges and helping advance global sustainability.
