This book marks the 20th year of the Global RCE Network through stories, insights and analyses from RCE initiatives worldwide.

This publication celebrates the 20th year of the global network of Regional Centers of Expertise on Education for Sustainable Development (RCEs). It reflects on how RCEs have advanced education for sustainable development (ESD) by translating global sustainability goals into local action through partnerships among communities, educators, policymakers and youth. Organized around five thematic chapters, it explores the Global RCE Network’s conceptual foundations, regional developments, projects and emerging trends, and concludes with reflections and strategic directions towards shaping a sustainable and inclusive future.

This advance copy is made available to participants of the 14th Global RCE Conference held on 21–23 October 2025 in Okayama, Japan.
