The United Nations Interagency Task Team on Science, Technology and Innovation for the Sustainable Development Goals (IATT), through its Work Stream 6 on Capacity-Building in STI for the SDGs, will organize the Caribbean Capacity-Building Workshop on Science, Technology and Innovation Policies and Instruments for the SDGs, to be held online from 8 to 10 September 2026.
Organized by the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) with collaboration from UNCTAD and UNU-MERIT, the workshop will focus on strengthening capacities for the design, implementation and evaluation of science, technology and innovation (STI) policies adapted to the specific constraints and opportunities of Caribbean small island developing States (SIDS).
The three-day programme will combine policy frameworks, country experiences and practical cases to examine how STI policies, institutions and instruments can support sustainable development and productive transformation in small island economies.
