Khanh Duong is a researcher and writer specializing in social and economic inequalities, utilizing machine learning to address socio-economic challenges in Computational Social Science. His research primarily focuses on persistent inequalities and promoting equality of opportunity in the digital age. Duong's work involves the analysis of cross-national survey data from sources such as the World Value Survey, the International Social Survey Programme, and the European Social Survey. He employs a variety of methodologies, including clustering, dimension reduction, factor analysis, causal inference, random forests, social network analysis, and simulation. He is proficient in statistical software like Stata and R. Before joining UNU-MERIT, Duong worked as a generative AI annotator in Ireland and completed his research studies at Maynooth University, where his thesis was fully funded by the Irish Research Council.
