The WEFE Nexus: Accelerating Progress on the Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystems (WEFE) Nexus in Sub-Saharan Africa

WEFE Nexus webinar will present and discuss the findings and recommendations emerging from that workshop and a forthcoming policy brief.

In March 2025, a regional capacity-building workshop was held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia focusing on the WEFE Nexus. Organized by UNOSD, in collaboration with UNESCO, UNEP-CTCN, IHE Delft, UNU-INWEH, and other partners, the workshop brought together people from a range of backgrounds including policymakers, researchers, civil society, and development practitioners. Among the workshops' successful outcomes was the information on the development of an inter-agency policy brief, which synthesizes key findings and offers actionable recommendations.

This upcoming webinar will present and discuss the findings and recommendations emerging from that workshop and a forthcoming policy brief. For more information, please see the Inter-Agency Policy Brief on Accelerating Progress on the Water energy-food-ecosystems (WEFE) Nexus in Sub-Saharan Africa– December 2025.
