Mennatallah Emam Mousa is an Economic Consultant at the Office of the Chief Economist for the Middle East and North Africa Region of the World Bank (MNACE) and a dual-career PhD fellow at UNU-MERIT and Maastricht University.
Mennatallah's expertise spans a wide range of critical development research areas, including growth and uncertainty, conflict and development, governance and transparency, food insecurity, health, labor markets, climate change, social norms and attitudes, and refugees and forced displacement. Her research has been instrumental in contributing to several impactful World Bank reports, including "Reality Check: Forecasting Growth in the Middle East and North Africa in Times of Uncertainty," "A New State of Mind: Greater Transparency and Accountability in the Middle East and North Africa," "Altered Destinies: The Long-Term Effects of Rising Prices and Food Insecurity in the Middle East and North Africa," and "Growth in the Middle East and North Africa." Furthermore, her research has contributed to peer-reviewed articles published in the Journal of International Money and Finance and the World Bank Policy Research Working Paper Series. Mennatallah holds an MPhil in Development Economics from the Sorbonne School of Economics, Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University, Paris, France. She also earned a joint B.Sc. degree in Economics from the Sorbonne School of Economics, Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University and the Faculty of Economics and Political Science of Cairo University, Cairo, Egypt.
