Nordine Es-Sadki is an Assistant Professor at UNU-MERIT. He holds a PhD in Economics from the School of Business and Economics of Maastricht University on the topic of formal technology transfer of universities, research institutes and firms. His research interests include, knowledge/technology transfer, the measurement and analysis of Science, Technology & Innovation including social and public sector innovation, questionnaire design, surveys and their methodology, and the economics of regional innovation.

Nordine Es-Sadki previously worked as a senior researcher at UNU-MERIT and has over 13 years of experience in innovation studies and innovation statistics and has been involved in various research projects for the European Commission, the OECD, national governments and WIPO on the analysis of innovation at the national, regional and industry level. He obtained his master degree in Economics and Business from the Erasmus University in Rotterdam with distinction, and has a bachelor degree in International Economics Studies from Maastricht University. He also works part-time as a economics teacher at a lyceum in Maastricht. He has taught several courses on the economics of innovation such as business sector innovation, public sector innovation and social innovation, social entrepreneurship, and science-industry links at UNU-MERIT and at the School of Business and Economics. Additionally, he has thaught methodological courses focused on survey design and survey methodology at UNU-MERIT and for National Statistical Offices.
