UNU Institute in Macau Signs a MOU with City University of Macau

The MOU paves a way for cooperation between UNU Macau and City University of Macau through research projects and exchange on Data Science research.

On Monday 28th May 2018, the United Nations University Institute in Macau and City University of Macau signed a Memorandum of Understanding for engagement on Data Science research. The MoU paves a way for cooperation and collaboration between the two institutions through research projects and short-term exchange activities that advance Data Science research and leverage advancements in the field towards sustainable development in Macau and the region.

The signing ceremony, which was held at the City University Taipa campus, was attended by the Prof. Michael Best and Dr. Mamello Thinyane from UNU Institute in Macau; and from the City University of Macau by President Zhang Shuguang, the Director of Academic Affairs Prof. Cai Zhiming, and the Director of Data Research Center Prof. Du Wencai. During the ceremony, Prof. Best gave a talk highlighting the role and importance of Data Science for Sustainable Development. He also presented the work of UNU Institute in Macau that is employing Data Science for the advancement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
