Implementing the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework

Time
- America/Toronto
Details
Open to public

Organized by the United Nations University Institute for Water, Environment and Health (UNU-INWEH) in collaboration with the United Nations Environment Management Group (EMG), the webinar will explore how the United Nations system and its partners can support the effective implementation of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, alongside the goals of the Paris Agreement, Land Degradation Neutrality, and other Multilateral Environmental Agreements. The discussions will focus on coordinated approaches to biodiversity conservation, human rights, and sustainable development.

This is the first in a series of dialogues aimed at exploring a coordinated approach by the UN System to Multilateral Environmental Agreements in preparation for the Conferences of the Parties (COPs) of the Rio Conventions in 2024. The Dialogue Series aims to identify innovative ways in which coordinated and collaborative approaches within the UN System can contribute to policy development based on sound scientific findings. These webinars will inform high-level discussions by Heads of UN entities, organized by EMG at the upcoming COPs.
