Winners of the 2023 RCE Awards Announced

The awards recognize innovative projects and programmes on education for sustainable development (ESD) from across the globe.

As part of the activities for the UNU-IAS Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) project, the winners of the 2023 RCE Awards were recently announced. The awards recognize innovative projects by Regional Centres of Expertise on Education for Sustainable Development (RCEs) that have made outstanding contributions to addressing sustainability challenges in their regions.

The winners of the 2023 RCE Awards covered projects across a spectrum of the SDGs and themes, including curriculum development, plants and animals, waste, arts, traditional knowledge, disaster risk reduction, ecotourism and agriculture. Recipients were awarded across three categories: (i) Outstanding Flagship Project, (ii) Acknowledged Flagship Project, and (iii) Honourable Mention.
