Session Highlights How Learning Can Drive Climate Action

UNU-IAS held an online session of the Climate Classroom @COP30 exploring how meaningful learning can be a catalyst for climate action.

On 6 November 2025, UNU-IAS held an online session Learning for Climate Action as part of the The Climate Classroom @COP30, a UN initiative to help those participating in climate meetings to follow and contribute to climate discussions.

Led by Nafissa Insebayeva (Consultant, UNU-IAS), it explored how effective climate education can strengthen individual and community engagement in climate action. The session shared real-world examples and practical tips on how learning can foster agency, support communities and inspire collaboration. Attended by 500 online participants, the session highlighted the importance of a whole-of-society approach to climate education.

About the Climate Classroom

The One UN Climate Change Learning Partnership (UN CC:Learn) is a collaborative initiative of 36 multilateral organizations working together to help countries build the knowledge and skills they need to take action on climate change. It organizes a series of free online classes that introduce learners to a range of climate change topics, allowing delegates, professionals and the public to engage meaningfully in global climate discussions.
