UNU-IAS and AEON Environmental Foundation will co-organize a panel session at Yokohama Biodiversity Festival as part of International Youth Conference on Biodiversity 2024 (IYCB). The event will discuss the role of youth in addressing global environmental issues and meaningful youth participation in decision-making processes.

Younger generations are significantly impacted by global crises such as biodiversity loss and climate change. However, their participation in international decision-making remains limited. To develop youth leadership towards global solutions focusing on biodiversity UNU-IAS and AEON Environmental Foundation launched Global Youth MIDORI platform (GYM) in 2024. During the session, GYM participants will share their experiences and discuss challenges and opportunities for meaningful youth engagement.

This event will be held in cooperation with Global Environmental Outreach Center (GEOC).

The session will be held at Pacifico Yokohama North 1F (Mini Stage). No registration is required. Entrance is free and open to all.
