Mei Maruyama is a Programme Coordinator for the Global Environment Outreach Center (GEOC) project.
Before joining UNU in 2015, she has led numerous outreach efforts in partnership with a variety of stakeholders, including government entities, UN agencies, civil society organizations, academia and youth. Mei was a secretariat member of the Regional Committee of United Nations Global Geospatial Information Management for Asia and the Pacific (UN-GGIM-AP). She also served as a focal point of the National Geospatial Information Authorities in the Asia Pacific region. In 2018, she was selected as a Young Leader for the German-Japanese Young Leaders Forum and participated in the “Transport and Mobility” programme held in Potsdam and Berlin, Germany.
Mei holds an MA in International Relations from the University of Melbourne, Australia.
