A high-level policy dialogue (3 June 2026 at 16.00 IST) on Water Transversality for Climate Resilience & Biodiversity Restoration will bring together policymakers, experts, and partner institutions to discuss integrated approaches to water governance, climate adaptation, and ecosystem recovery.

UNU-CRIS is a core partner for the event, which will highlight the need for cross-sectoral and cross-border cooperation in addressing shared water and biodiversity challenges. The dialogue is expected to create space for policy exchange on how to better align water, climate, and biodiversity objectives in practice.

The chair's address will be delivered by Dr. Raj Bhushan Chaudhary, India’s Minister of State for Jal Shakti, whose remarks are expected to underscore the importance of water security, resilience, and institutional coordination in national development. Nidhi Nagabhatla will join as a representative of UNU-CRIS.

The event is expected to emphasize the growing recognition that water governance cannot be addressed in isolation, and that resilient futures will depend on stronger policy coherence, ecological restoration, and collaborative action across sectors and scales.
