The Atlas of Uncertainty is an interdisciplinary project blending art, data, and stories to explore urban life in fragmented, rapidly changing cities across Ghana, Kenya, and South Africa. It reimagines maps by integrating personal narratives and artistic interpretation with statistical data, challenging traditional views of African urbanism.

Key features include an art book with essays and visual data exploring urban spaces, an interactive exhibition at Point of Order in Johannesburg in May 2025 (with future exhibits in Accra, Nairobi, Europe, and the U.S.), and a digital platform with an immersive website and global outreach via social media.

The project aims to inspire fresh perspectives on African cities, urban mobility, and the human experience, engaging diverse audiences through art and data.

The seminar will take place on Zoom, please click on this link to join. The seminar will also be recorded and live streamed on UNU-MERIT’s YouTube channel.
