UNU Macau and MUST Launch Internship Program

The United Nations University Institute in Macau (UNU Macau) and the Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST) announced their first ever internship collaboration. This program will provide eligible MUST students from the Faculty of Humanity and Arts with the opportunity to intern at UNU Macau to enhance their academic and professional development as well as give them an insight into the work of the United Nations.

“This internship program has been designed to equip our students with communication and organizational skills through hands-on, experiential learning at UNU Macau. Learning opportunities with the UN will enable them to be part of the global effort to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals as well as contribute to the development of the Greater Bay Area,” said Professor Xudong Liu, Associate Professor, Macau University of Science and Technology.

The first batch of interns will be placed in the communications team where they will assist with the implementation of the Institute’s communications strategy and the promotion of the Institute’s high-quality research outputs to the Greater Bay Area and beyond. In the future, UNU Macau plans to assign MUST students to other teams at the institute.

“We are happy to collaborate with the Macau University of Science and Technology. As the only United Nations presence in Macau, we hope to offer opportunities for students to learn about the UN, work for the UN, and develop global perspectives. We warmly welcome young talents to join our Institute and help contribute to solutions to pressing global issues,” said Dr. Jingbo Huang, Director of the United Nations University Institute in Macau.
