UNU Macau and BFSU Deepen Academic Exchange and Collaboration

UNU Macau and BFSU strengthen ties through reciprocal visits, fostering collaboration in research, talent, and innovation.

On 24 April, the United Nations University Institute in Macau (UNU Macau) welcomed a delegation from Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU), led by President Jia Wenjian.

Dr. Jaimee Stuart, Acting Head of Research at UNU Macau, received the BFSU delegation and extended a warm welcome. She introduced UNU Macau’s research and training initiatives in digital technology and sustainable development, highlighting work in AI governance and ethics, digital public goods, cybersecurity and resilience, and youth development.

President Jia Wenjian shared BFSU’s recent achievements, particularly in talent training for international organizations and innovations in language education, expressing strong interest in deepening practical cooperation with UNU Macau.

Discussions focused on talent development, academic exchange, and joint research opportunities, building on the cooperation framework established through the internship memorandum signed in January 2023. Both sides agreed to strengthen communication and coordination to achieve more substantive results.

Just days earlier, on 21 April, Dr. Jingbo Huang, Director of UNU Macau, visited BFSU in Beijing. These reciprocal visits underscored the commitment of both institutions to exchange experiences and explore new opportunities for collaboration.
