Collaborating on Solutions to Achieve the SDGs at UNLEASH 2019

UNU Macau's Dr. Mamello Thinyane joined changemakers, mentors and business leaders in this innovation lab dedicated to global sustainability.

From November 6-13, 2019, Dr Mamello Thinyane of the United Nations University Institute in Macau joined changemakers, talents, mentors and business leaders dedicated to global sustainability at UNLEASH Global Innovation Lab 2019 and facilitated the “SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities" track. Below he reflects on his experience as a facilitator at UNLEASH2019:

UNLEASH2019 is not just an innovation lab for the Sustainable Development Goals, it is part fulfillment of the partnership for the goals aspirations articulated in SDG17. It was an incredible experience and a privilege being one of the 200+ facilitators working with 1,000 talents from over 160 countries to come up with innovative, scalable and impactful solutions across 8 SDGs. There are, without doubt, many challenges ahead of us, but UNLEASH2019 has been a very pleasant reminder that there is more passion, energy, creativity, and commitment from across the world and across various sectors towards a sustainable good life for all.
