DESCRIPTION
This panel discussion examines how learning through professional education, supervised practice, and continuing professional development should adapt as AI becomes more involved in professional work. It comes at a time when the formal and informal use of AI in the workplace is increasingly shaping how professional work is carried out. This shift in human-AI collaboration is making professional judgement and clarity about responsibility for decisions and outcomes more consequential. Education and continuing professional development therefore need to prepare individuals not only to use AI tools but also to evaluate AI-supported work, identify when outputs are inadequate, and understand evolving forms of accountability in AI-assisted environments.
This panel brings together perspectives from professional education, workplace learning and professional practice to consider how professional judgement can be developed and maintained for both new entrants and experienced practitioners. The discussion will focus on how professional bodies, employers and education providers can strengthen the development of judgement, oversight and accountability in increasingly AI-assisted work environments.
This session is part of the UNU Macau AI Conference 2026.
