UNU-IAS will co-organize a symposium on Building Resilience through Multi-Stakeholder Partnerships — Insights from Japan. It will highlight practical experiences of multi-stakeholder partnerships in strengthening environmental and disaster resilience in communities.
Due to the recent increase in frequency and severity of natural disasters, it has become difficult for a single community to manage disaster response, recovery and reconstruction efforts alone. As a result, building resilient communities through multi-stakeholder partnerships has become essential. At the same time, forming and maintaining partnerships can be complex and challenging.
