UNU-IAS will co-organise a public forum on the theme Reshaping Our Future: Youth Empowerment and Contribution to Living in Harmony with Nature as part of the Ninth Global Conference of the International Partnership for the Satoyama Initiative (IPSI-9) to be held in Akita City, Japan on 8–11 July 2023. The event will showcase youth initiatives and innovations that contribute to the conservation and sustainable development of socio-ecological production landscapes and seascapes (SEPLS), which are human-influenced environments that encompass social, cultural, and ecological elements. The forum will facilitate knowledge-sharing and networking opportunities among youth innovators, experts, and stakeholders. Additionally, it aims to identify potential partnerships and collaborations to further promote the sustainable development of SEPLS.

Participation & Registration

This event will be held in-person at Suda Hall at Akita International University. To participate, please register in advance. Registration will close when the number of participants reaches capacity.

This event will be held in English and Japanese with simultaneous interpretation provided.
