Mainstreaming Landscape Perspectives into the Post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework

UNU-IAS will host a side event at the March 2022 meetings of the CBD to examine landscape management.

UNU-IAS will co-organise a side event at the March 2022 meetings of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) in Geneva, Switzerland. This event will examine best practices and case studies of landscape management, focusing on strategies to embed landscape approaches in the Post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF).

Panellists will discuss opportunities for restoring nature, the need for equitable landscape governance, and the application of landscape approaches in other global agendas such as the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration and the Paris Agreement on climate change.

The event is organised in partnership with PBL Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency; the Ministry of the Environment, Government of Japan; and the International Partnership for the Satoyama Initiative (IPSI).

Participation

This event will take place on-site at the Geneva meetings and online. To participate online, please use the Zoom link. Registration in advance is not required.
