CLIMIG Madagascar, funded by GIZ is concerned with i) understanding the processes through which people move from the Southern drought prone region of Androy to the receiving area of Boeny and ii) researching why, until now their integration has been challenging, in order to iii) produce recommendations for policy makers and other actors to manage this migration. Workshops were held in order to gain a full understanding of the issues, and impact chains were produced in order to understand the propagation of risks. A range of communication products were produced aimed at different stakeholders to include regional and national policy makers, NGOs, donors and the academic community. Specific solutions were proposed, aimed at improving the livelihoods of those experiencing climate impacts, social and economic integration of migrants and management of migration flows.
