The Artificial Intelligence & Data Science for Public Administration Portugal Innovation Hub (AI4PA) aims to support the digital transition of public administration by introducing Artificial Intelligence and other technologies (technically adequate and socially responsible and oriented towards the common good) to increase the effectiveness of public policies, as well as capacitating relevant stakeholders at the central, regional and local public administration and SMEs that offer digital solutions suited to the needs of the State.
The AI4PA has been recognized as a Portuguese DIH in the framework of the Ministerial Order No. 12046/2020, from December 11, of the Minister of State, Economy and Digital Transition, and of the Ministerial Order No. 11092-B/2021, from November 11, of the Minister of State, Economy and Digital Transition. Objectives
The AI4PA’s mission is to support the digital transformation of Public Administration, namely through the fulfilment of the following general objectives:
a) Testing and experimentation with digital technologies before deciding to invest;
b) Qualification and training in digital skills;
c) Support to find funding opportunities and investment in digital technologies;
d) Act as a facilitator, bringing together industry, companies and Public Administration entities that need to adopt new technological solutions, with companies, namely, start-ups and SMEs, that already have digital solutions ready
for the market.
Activities
UNU-EGOV will take part in activity 4 on Strategies for digitalisation through technological surveillance and benchmarking related to AI in Public Administration.
