Nidhi Nagabhatla to Give Keynote Address at ISDCRI Conference

The conference in Delhi on 24 and 25 March is a pre-event of RESSUMMIT 2026 on Public Policy and Strategic Capacities.

In her address, Nidhi Nagabhatla will discuss how nature-based solutions (NbS), water security, and youth empowerment converge as transformative pillars for building resilience amid escalating climate pressures. NbS—leveraging ecosystems like wetlands, forests, and restored riparian zones—offer proven, effective strategies to regulate water cycles, filter pollutants, and buffer extremes, delivering co-benefits from flood control to biodiversity (all Rio Conventions). Water security, ensuring reliable access to clean water for ecosystems, agriculture, and communities, underpins human well-being and economic stability, particularly in vulnerable regions and basins, where floods and drought threaten millions.

Youth empowerment completes this triad, channelling the energy and innovation of next generations into green skills—technical expertise in NbS implementation, monitoring, and policy advocacy. Young leaders trained in restoration techniques, data-driven water governance, or AI-based simulation of solutions can help bridge knowledge gaps and foster ownership of local solutions.

Together, these three elements create synergistic resilience and scalable green futures, from community involvement to policy reforms. Prioritising this integration—through capacity and investment—can ensure equitable, enduring transitions to sustainability goals.
