Opinion: At the UN, we need to do better with less. Here’s how

In Devex, Dr. Nicole Goldin, Head of Equitable Development at UNU-CPR, and Dr. David Passarelli, Director of UNU-CPR, focus on a central theme in global sustainable development discussions: the need to do better with less. This means achieving greater impact for the planet and the most vulnerable populations despite reduced funding, leadership and trust in the multilateral system.

They argue that success depends on Member States embracing collective action within the framework of the Secretary-General’s UN80 reform agenda. Specifically, by acting with a renewed sense of purpose, pace, priority and precision, the UN80 reforms can advance shared development goals despite constrained funding, leadership and trust in the multilateral system.
