Dr. Nicole Goldin is Head of Equitable Development at United Nations University Centre for Policy Research (UNU-CPR).
Dr. Goldin overseas policy research and the development of evidence-based solutions that serve the interests of the United Nations and Member States and advance economic development cooperation, international financial architecture reform, inclusive growth and attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Prior to joining UNU-CPR, Dr. Goldin was and remains a non-resident senior fellow at the Atlantic Council’s Geoeconomics Center; and is a member of the Bretton Woods Committee. Dr. Goldin has considerable experience as an economist, development practitioner and policy advisor, including in previous senior roles as Global Head of Inclusive Growth at Abt Associates and Lead Economist at the World Bank, along with engagements at UNICEF, FHI360 and other public and private sector organizations. She has also served as an Adjunct Professor at George Washington University and was elected to the Advisory Neighborhood Commission in Washington DC in 2018.
She founded the Youth Prosperity and Security Initiative at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, leading the Global Youth Wellbeing Index, the flagship project of the initiative. Dr. Goldin also held senior positions in the U.S. State Department and U.S. Agency for International Development, working on initiatives related to youth, economic growth, Africa, urbanization, women’s rights and the SDGs.

Dr. Goldin holds a Doctorate in Economics from SOAS University of London, a Master's Degree in International Relations and Affairs from American University, a Master of Science in Economics and Development Studies from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a Bachelors Degree from Union College.
