Following the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake, many households in Notojima Island, Nanao City, used well water to maintain their everyday lives during water supply disruption. Mutual aid among residents using well water was common, and groundwater from public facilities was also used. Although the distribution of wells and the water quality varied depending on geological and regional characteristics, the study showed that wells played a crucial role in providing water, particularly for non-potable domestic use, during the emergency. This underscores the importance of securing water sources during disasters and demonstrates the potential of groundwater to strengthen regional resilience.
