Nathan (Nate) Webb is a doctoral researcher and international development practitioner in the Dual Career PhD programme on Innovation, Economics, Governance and Sustainable Development (IEGSD) at UNU-MERIT and Maastricht University.

His research examines the downstream consequences of humanitarian protection policy, specifically how temporary protection programmes shape longer-term access to social rights, security, and mobility.

Nate brings a decade of field experience across large-scale humanitarian responses with the International Organisation for Migration (IOM), the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO), and Action Contre la Faim. He has worked on the Rohingya refugee response in Bangladesh and drought and food-security response in Somalia, and coordinated labour migration research in Southeast Asia.

Nathan holds an MA in International Relations and an MA in Photojournalism & Documentary Photography.
