2020 Year in Review

As COVID-19 accelerated worldwide digital transformation, UNU Macau is working to better combine digital technologies and sustainable development.

2020 was a challenging yet significant year as the global community faced unforeseen circumstances resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic. Amid lockdowns and travel restrictions, COVID-19 has amplified the importance of digital technologies in our lives and accelerated digital transformation around the world. Although digital technologies hold great potential for economic and social development, they could have unintended and adverse consequences on vulnerable populations. To address this global concern, UNU Macau is working at the intersection of digital technologies and sustainable development to produce high-quality research outputs, achieve policy impact, and create a more equitable and inclusive world for all. A big thank you to all for joining us in this journey towards a more sustainable digital future!

Watch this video for a recap and monthly highlights of our work in 2020.
