Video: INFoCAT Field trip-Shortlisted innovators meet smallholders.

This field trip was to help INFoCAT innovators meet farmers and fine-tune their innovations to best suit the needs of these farming communities.

UNU-INRA's Innovate for Clean Agritech Innovations (INFoCAT), aims to advance women’s and youth economic empowerment in rural areas of African countries, by promoting low-cost clean energy-powered technology solutions.

After winning a sum of $7400 each in December 2024, 10 young INFoCAT Innovation Challenge winners have recently gone through a series of activities (field trips), with the INFoCAT Ghana, Senegal,  Cote D'Ivoire teams and experts in the agriculture and renewable energy sector.

Inputs from farming communities(farmers and agro processors), was to help the country teams (INFoCAT team) and team of experts, identify how to help the innovators fine-tune their agritech solutions, to be more efficient and provide better value for these farmers.

INFoCAT is sponsored by International Development Research Center (IDRC), Canada. Project partners include : ENDA Energie (Senegal) and Cote D’Ivoire ( UNU-INRA, Operating Unit).
