Over the past 3 years, WHO has been coordinating research to characterise how the marketing of commercial milk formula impacts infant feeding decisions and practices. The first of the research reports - the largest of its kind to date – documenting the experiences of >8,500 women and 300 health professionals in 8 countries will be launched on WEDNESDAY 23 February 2022.

WHO hopes to draw attention to how marketing is still a major problem globally and a threat to both the health and human rights of children and mothers. The report and launch is an opportunity to acknowledge the threat of marketing and call for change and attention to the direct and indirect costs that children and mothers are paying because of unethical marketing.

Join WHO Director-General Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus and partners on Wednesday 23 February for the launch of a new WHO-UNICEF report: How the marketing of formula milk influences our decisions on infant feeding.

Two events are planned to accommodate different time zones:

Event 1: 10h00-11h30 CET (Geneva) – register here

(interpretation in Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish)

Event 2: 11h00-12h30 EST (New York) = 17h00 CET (Geneva) – register here
