UNU-IAS researcher Christopher Doll has co-authored a paper exploring linkages between climate mitigation and health impacts in two Indian cities. His work examined initiatives to improve governance and policymaking processes in different sectors — Surat (waste) and Delhi (transportation) — and evaluated how systems of urban governance can enable or prevent health outcomes through continuous improvements in the environmental conditions in a city. The paper forms part of a virtual special issue in Environment International, which was developed from his participation at the inaugural workshop of the ICSU–UNU–IAMP (InterAcademy Medical Panel) 10-year programme on "Health and Wellbeing in Changing Urban Environment: A Systems Analysis Approach".
