Upcoming UNU-IAS Symposium on Landscape Conservation Highlighted in Japanese Media

Hokkoku Shimbun featured an international symposium to be held in Kanazawa, Japan in May 2025.

On 5 January 2025, Hokkoku Shimbun, a newspaper covering the Hokuriku region in Japan, published an article about an upcoming UNU-IAS symposium. Scheduled for May 2025, the international symposium will focus on green infrastructure and landscape conservation efforts in Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture. This event will be organized by the UNU-IAS Operating Unit Ishikawa/Kanazawa (OUIK) with support from Kanazawa City.

Kanazawa has been selected as one of the role model cities for the Generation Restoration project of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). UNU-IAS OUIK provided scientific expertise and advice for the application process.
