The Nineth Japan Youth Environmental Activity Contest was featured in special print editions of the Yomiuri SDGs Newspaper (March 2024) and Chukosei Newspaper (March 2024). A group of students from Nakui Agricultural High School in Aomori Prefecture (the “Flora Hunters” team) received the UNU-IAS Director’s Award for presenting their initiative focused on reducing water use in agriculture. The article in the Yomiuri Shimbun included comments by Shinobu Yume Yamaguchi (Director, UNU-IAS).
