UNU-IAS will co-organize a public event as part of an expert meeting to assess progress on SDG 13 (climate action) and strategize recommendations to accelerate action. The event will explore the latest developments toward achieving the SDGs by highlighting synergistic actions and introducing best practices. It will promote further action for implementation by multiple stakeholders focusing on environmental aspects and strengthening synergies.  

Participation & Registration

The event will be held online and in-person at the Elizabeth Rose Hall at UNU Headquarters in Tokyo, Japan. To attend in person, please register by 3 March 2024 (18:00 JST). To participate online, please register by 6 March 2024 (12:00 JST).

Background

On 4–6 March 2024, the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA) and the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) will convene experts from think tanks, academia, NGOs, the private sector and governments, as well as from the UN system and other international organizations, in preparation for the review of SDG 13 ahead of the annual assessment on the progress of the SDGs to take place at the UN High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) in July 2024.
