This seminar will touch on these key points:

  • Digital Health can create more effective people-centred services and better Health System Management. However, the Digital Divide is a challenge and, if not considered in Digital Health initiatives, can increase inequalities;

  • Citizen participation can enhance Digital Health initiatives. At the same time, Public Sector Innovation Labs can enable citizen participation and the adoption of citizens’ ideas and solutions by public organizations;

  • The research, developed in the Government Fellow Program, aims to create recommendations to enhance strategies of citizen engagement in Digital Health initiatives conducted in the context of Public Sector Innovation Labs (PSIL);

  • This is expected to lead to more effective use of Innovation Labs in the Public Sector and make Digital Health more inclusive;

  • Seven Brazilian experiences are analyzed using an analytical framework considering contextual aspects, the participation process, and expected outcomes. The objective of the framework is to understand what factors allow to achieve more effective citizen participation;

Preliminary results will be presented.
