Cape Verde, an archipelagic country in the Atlantic Ocean off the western coast of Africa, has made significant investments in electronic government (EGOV) development since 1998. In 2020, it achieved a high ranking in the Electronic Government Development Index, as reported by the UN E-Government Survey. The country’s digital transformation journey involves collaboration with UNU-EGOV and the Ministério de Modernização do Estado e da Administração Pública. Together, they have developed the Cabo Verde Digital Governance Strategy, focusing on improving digital government services and fostering a robust digital economy ecosystem. Initiatives include enhancing internet access, technological capacity, and innovation. Activities
The project consists of sourcing technical assistance services on the formulation of Cabo Verde Digital Governance Strategy and its Action Plan, including the development of methodologies for the EGOV strategy and for the Action Plan, workshops related to both deliverables, online and onsite technical meetings, and the elaboration of the final documents.
