UNU-EGOV Co-Hosts AICOSERV Workshop at EGOV2025

The AICOSERV Workshop was held at the EGOV2025 Conference in Krems, Austria, on September 4, 2025.

Held at the University for Continuing Education Krems, the workshop "Developing a Model for Sustainable Digital Co-Creation in the Public Sector" brought together researchers, practitioners, and policymakers for interactive discussions on the role of artificial intelligence in public sector co-creation. UNU-EGOV was represented by Aymen Boudebouz, alongside project partners Noella Edelmann, Nina Rizun, Tomasz Janowski, Magdalena Ciesielska, Nina Khairova, Aleksandra Revina, Yuliia Bartashevska, and Anna Bondarovich. Contributing team members Naci Karkin and Demetrios Sarantis also supported the project's development.

Discussions focused on the potential and limitations of digital technologies and AI in facilitating public sector co-creation processes, while also addressing the risks associated with data integrity, regulatory frameworks, and equitable access to services. Participants examined how to create AI solutions that augment human decision-making rather than substituting for it, and highlighted the importance of building cross-sector expertise to sustain digital transformation in government.

Through collaborative group brainstorming, case study reflections, and synthesis sessions, participants provided valuable insights that represent an important milestone in validating and refining the AICOSERV model for AI-enabled co-creation.

The workshop was part of the AICOSERV Project, which aims to develop a fully integrated, innovative, high-level transnational study program at Master's level entitled "AI Technologies for Sustainable Public Service Co-Creation," including curriculum and joint mechanisms design.
