UNU-CRIS will participate in COST Connect | Science in Action: Solutions for the Sustainable Development Goals

On 29 January 2026, UNU-CRIS will participate in the COST workshop to discuss challenges in achieving Sustainable Development Goals.

On 29 January 2026, COST workshop to continue developing the open platform created for COST Action researchers, innovators, and the UN agencies' scientific focal points, as well as from the European Commission and international partners. Nidhi Nagabhatla will represent UNU and also the participation of Ghent University in COST ACTION: Climent (https://www.cost.eu/actions/CA23113/)

The workshop will facilitate a multidisciplinary dialogue and collaboration, which are essential for addressing the multifaceted challenges we are facing globally. Participants will deepen their discussion on the main challenges and the scientific needs in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals adopted by the United Nations. The event will serve as a forum for UN Agencies and COST Action representatives to meet and continue their dialogue on collaboration opportunities for the immediate and longer-term future. It aims to put COST Actions’ scientific activities and results in the spotlight and show their contribution to the SDGs.
And the event will showcase the excellent scientific contributions to the objectives of UN agencies and bodies through the acknowledged work of the COST Actions addressing the most pressing environmental challenges while promoting economic growth and social well-being.

By bringing together a diverse group of stakeholders, this COST Connect event aims to stimulate a constructive exchange of ideas, enhance cooperation and identify synergies that can accelerate the transition to a more sustainable and resilient future.
