Thomas Manders is a research intern at UNU-CRIS.
During his internship at UNU-CRIS, Thomas Manders will primarily work on the role of recruitment agencies in shaping migration patterns around the world, under the supervision of Ilse Ruyssen within the Migration and Social Policy Cluster. More specifically, he will examine how recruitment agencies influence who migrates, along which migration corridors, and into which sectors, while also exploring their possible role at earlier stages of the migration decision-making process, including in shaping people's aspirations to migrate.
Based on the evidence gathered, he will work towards a short research output, the exact format of which will be determined in light of the material identified, with the possibility of further developing this work into the basis for a larger research project.
