Rachelle Taveau is a Research Intern at UNU-CRIS.

During her research internship at UNU-CRIS, Rachelle Taveau will primarily work on updating the Regional Integration Knowledge System (RIKS) database under the supervision of Samuel Standaert and Glenn Rayp within the Economic and Political Interactions Cluster. Her role will encompass creating a digital landscape for bilateral datasets on foreign direct investment (FDI), trade, and migration as well as updating membership details on previous treaties.

Her academic interests lie at the intersection of international political economy, regional integration, agricultural trade policy, and economic development. She is particularly interested in how economic agreements and climatic conditions influence patterns of regional cooperation and agricultural development. Her current work at UNU-CRIS aligns with broader research efforts to measure both the de jure and de facto dimensions of regional integration through quantitative indicators and large-scale datasets.

Rachelle is currently pursuing a Master's in Economics of Globalization and European Integration (EGEI) through the University of Bari Aldo Moro in Italy and Ghent University in Belgium, culminating in a joint degree with the University of Tartu in Estonia in Quantitative Economics. She holds a Bachelor's degree in International Relations from the University of California, Davis, with a specialization in Trade and Development in Western Europe.
