Kiyo Chen is a Research Intern at UNU-CRIS.
During the research internship at UNU-CRIS, Kiyo Chen will primarily work on structural economic data collection and the updating of regional integration datasets under the supervision of Professor Glenn Rayp and Professor Samuel Standaert within the Economic and Political Interactions Cluster.
Kiyo is pursuing a Master's degree in Economics of Globalisation and European Integration as part of an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree at Ghent University, alongside a Master of Economic Statistics at Xiamen University. Her primary research interests lie in regional and international trade analysis, economic policy integration, and the application of advanced econometrics to complex financial and economic frameworks.
Prior to joining UNU-CRIS, Kiyo developed a strong foundation in academic research and quantitative modeling. She has worked as a Research Assistant focusing on high-frequency financial volatility measures and the categorization of extended empirical models. Beyond her academic endeavors, Kiyo brings extensive practical experience in data analysis and strategic research from the financial and consulting sectors. Through quantitative and strategic roles at Guosen Securities, Hejun Consulting, and NIO, she has developed an expertise in constructing project-specific databases and automating large-scale data workflows. Highly proficient in Python, STATA, R, and MATLAB , she excels at transforming unstructured, multi-channel source materials into structured, actionable insights for institutional and policy analysis.
