Edward’s multi-disciplinary research expertise covers complex risk analysis, pathways approaches for risk management and adaptation, and monitoring, evaluation and learning. He is passionate about transboundary knowledge co-creation and concept development.
Edward has experience working across many global regions with diverse groups of stakeholders, focusing predominantly on understanding and managing the complex impacts from climate change and other disasters. He is passionate about developing practical, user-friendly tools and research outputs that can deliver impact for policy. Edward is involved in a number of teaching activities, and coordinates the Risk and Vulnerability Master's specialization at UNU-MERIT. Prior to working at UNU-EHS, Edward worked for an agricultural research institution in Suriname, South America. He holds a BSc and MSc in Environmental Science from the Universities of Brighton (United Kingdom) and Wageningen University (the Netherlands), where he specialized in water systems and global change. His passion for surfing, skiing and the outdoors while growing up was one of the driving factors for pursuing a career in environmental research.
