To mark the International Day of Commemoration in Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust, United Nations University – Maastricht Economic and Social Research Institute on Innovation and Technology (UNU-MERIT), in cooperation with the United Nations Regional Information Centre (UNRIC) and the United Nations Student Association Maastricht (UNSA), invites you to a UN Cinema screening of the documentary The Last Ones of Auschwitz, followed by a moderated discussion.

The Last One of Auschwitz is a 70-minute documentary by Sophie Nahum and Leslie Benitah, creators of the educational project The Last Ones / Les Derniers. Filmed over several years, the film brings together the testimonies of Holocaust survivors, with a particular focus on those who endured the horrors of Auschwitz-Birkenau. These personal accounts form a powerful historical record and a poignant reminder of the human cost of hatred, persecution, and systematic violence.

Note: This documentary includes archival images with graphic depictions of emaciated people, mass graves, and human remains. Viewer discretion advised.
