Trang Thi Pham is a PhD fellow in innovation and development economics with dual affiliations at UNU-MERIT and Maastricht University, the Netherlands. Her main research interests include innovation diffusion and governance of innovation and technological change for development. Her PhD thesis focuses on the impacts of mobile internet connections on socio-economic issues, particularly household income, employment, education, and youth's human capital for developing countries context. The PhD project aims to be a part of global efforts in addressing SDGs 3, 4, 8, and 9. Trang has visited UNU-WIDER in 2023 under the visiting PhD fellowship, and CINPE, National University of Costa Rica in 2024 under European Commission’ Marie Skłodowska Curie Actions Catching up along the Global Value Chain (CatChain). Before joining UNU-MERIT, Trang has working experiences in academia, consultancy, and public policy in Viet Nam and Singapore.
