Michelle González Amador is a PhD Fellow at UNU-MERIT since 2016. 

Her research looks at the relationship between income groups, economic decision-making, social networks, and educational & economic outcomes. Specifically, she looks at decision-making in student transition to tertiary education. Other interests include behavioral and development economics, impact evaluation, tech policies and leveraging tech innovations for development, social networks and graph theory, and decision-making and social psychology for vulnerable groups. 

She holds an MPP from the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin, with a focus on Quantitative Policy Analysis.

As of 2020, she co-organizes the Mechanism Design for Social Good working group on Latin America and the Caribbean. A research working group that utilizes methodologies from Economics, Computer Science and other Social Sciences to tackle issues in the region.
